Are UGGs Making a Come Back This Winter?
UGGs are making a comeback this winter and our middle school selves are so here for it! We can remember the pure joy and excitement that came during the holidays from tearing open wrapping paper to find a box with a crisp, new pair of UGGs inside.
Whether you gravitate towards the classic chestnut color, the knitted style, or my personal favorite, the tall boots folded over to show some of the cozy fur lining, UGGs (or a similar version of the shoe) were a staple in our winter wardrobes growing up. There was nothing like rolling up to 7th-grade homeroom with your bright Abercrombie shirt and skinny jeans tucked into your UGG boots.
While styling UGGs in 2020 is very different from their former glory, there is something nostalgic about wearing a warm pair of UGG boots to tackle your day. This winter UGGs are definitely making a comeback. Celebrities have been seen incorporating these boots into their streetwear and many brands added different styles of UGGs to their winter product launches. Urban Outfitters even lists UGGs as the brand spotlight on its website.
The UGGs fall line is “Inspired by the natural beauty of Yosemite National Park” and includes styles with the comfort we know and love, and designs that work in both the outdoors and downtown streets.
Here is your styling guide to UGGs in Winter 2020:
THE CLASSIC LOOK
The Classic boot was and always will be so versatile. This style isn’t too tall so you can easily cuff your favorite pair of straight leg or cropped jeans to just above your boots for a more effortless look. To complete your outfit add a flannel and beanie for the ultimate “just woke up,” more baggy vibe. You can also wear your boots with a pair of wide-leg high waisted jeans if you want to be more subtle and not show as much of the shoes.

THE ERAND LOOK
During a busy day where you may find yourself running from work, to grab a quick coffee, and back to campus for a Zoom class, a shoe you can quickly slide on and off is essential. These slipper UGGs are perfect for days like that and to wear around your dorm or apartment when it starts to get colder and you want to stay warm and cozy. They come in all of UGGs’s classic colors like chestnut, grey, and black, but some of the styles that add a pop of color could be really spunky for an easy-errand look too. Slide these on with a pair of mom jeans or leggings and you're good to go!
THE TRENDY LOOK
Another trend we saw (and loved) this fall was the mini-pleated skirt. This style skirt is one of the many retro looks we saw pop up again, along with sweater vests and vintage tees. Pairing your oversized sweater and pleated skirt with mini UGG boots would easily transform this trendy look into a winter style.
