On The Edge Podcast

Two friends, Sydney Grossbard and Taylor Radney, decided to relaunch the podcast where they discuss everything that people are usually thinking but don't say.

Taylor & Sydney!

On The Edge is messy, honest, and a little chaotic – the way real college conversations are. Sydney and Taylor cover topics like relationships, pop culture, friendships, college life, and anything else that is bothering them that week. Each episode feels less formal and more like you are overhearing a conversation between two friends.

What makes the podcast work is the dynamic that Sydney and Taylor have. It's funny without forcing it to be professional. They challenge each other, call each other out, but say the things that people won't actually admit.

New episodes drop every Wednesday at 9 a.m., giving you something to listen to while you prepare for the weekend. The podcast that feels real is a little unhinged in the best way. Episodes run about 20-40 minutes, so they are long enough to listen to on a long walk or while doing things like cleaning your room. Each episode title follows the format, “On the Edge… of [something related to this week's topic]”; this format is inspired by the Netflix show Never Have I Ever. It sets the tone right away for this week's episode. There is also a structure that keeps everything grounded without making it feel scripted. Every episode starts with “This Week’s Edge,” where they share something they've been on the edge of or avoiding entirely. They finish every episode with “The Edge of Advice,” which is where Sydney and Taylor share notable advice or quotes from the week.

A listener compliments: “I really like the theming, the way each episode has a clear central topic but leaves space for miscellaneous side topics, it feels natural but also very purposeful with the things you say. I also like the episode titles following the “On The Edge of ___” formula and the way you include that as a small segment.”

The Podcast Instagram (@ontheedge_pod) is an extension of the podcast. They post monthly calendars, graphics, and other content promoting the content, and are starting to branch into other content that is college-related.

Some of the most popular episodes:

  1. Of Saying “Nice Guys” Aren't Actually Nice (Ep. 5)

This episode talks about the behaviors of men and experiences with men who claim they are “nice”. They also discuss Taylor's favorite topic: A boy vs. a man.

  2. … Of Learning Not Everyone Was Raised Like Me (Ep. 3)

This episode taps into one of the most frustrating parts of college: realizing how different people deal with situations and have different communication skills.

  3. … Of Becoming a Red Carpet Reporter (Ep. 4)

This episode is all about pop culture, and Sydney and Taylor give their opinions on everything that has happened recently. Like the Olympics (The Men's US Hockey team), the Harry Potter remake, Punch the Monkey, and Kash Pate, the director of the FBI

On The Edge is part commentary, part storytelling, and part unfiltered conversations. It doesn't try to put up a front of a fake glamorous college life; it shares truthful moments and perspectives.
