Between school work and your social life, it's hard to keep up. We’ve all been told to plan, but has anyone ever explained how to do it? We want to let you in on the secret: a planner!

Organizing all of your obligations in one space makes you less likely to forget something, and prevents work from piling up by breaking it down. Planners don't have to be boring - at The Edge we are all about making organization effortlessly aesthetic! Finals are coming up, and we’ve got some tips to help you kickstart your planner journey.

Planning can be dull, but your planner doesn't have to be. With fun pens, stickers and of course, the notebook itself, you can make it just as amazing as you are! Let's dive into the most important part: the notebook. Choosing a playful design that caters to your personality is crucial. If you love your planner, you're more likely to use it and hopefully incorporate it into your routine. Pro-tip: TJ Maxx has dozens of inexpensive options!

Colorful pens are a necessary accessory. Practically speaking, color coding has been proven to help create visual clarity and emphasize our priorities. Regardless, there’s just something about fun pens that instantly make your planner—and your life—look more put together (and way cuter). We recommend gel pens for writing and felt-tip markers for highlighting the essentials!

Just as crucial as pretty pens are stickers! We didn't leave them in middle school, and neither should you. Stickers can be used for headers or borders in your planner, immediately elevating your schedule. Make sure you dont forget these must-haves when starting your organizing journey!

Planners are a form of self-care and a great way to prevent burnout. By organizing all of your assignments and deadlines in one place, you can avoid the mountain of work on Sunday night (that we all dread). This advertently relieves academic pressure, and you can even use your new planner to schedule time for yourself. Whether it's making sure you have thirty minutes to paint your nails or ensuring that you can go to bed early the night before an exam,  your planner can make it easier to schedule time for you!

Take forty-five minutes each week to unplug, put on your favourite playlist and let your new pens do their thing - it's officially a plan!
