The Power of Pinterest
Pinterest: a “visual discovery engine and social network” that you can use to gain inspiration for projects, aspirations or goals. The platform allows you to create “boards” that you can title and sort by category to organize your thoughts through images.
Though Pinterst is a pretty popular app, what most people don’t realize the power it holds for helping people curate their perfect lifestyle. Read on to learn more about why and how we at The Edge use Pinterest in our daily lives!
It helps you get clear on your goals
By looking at the feed that is curated based on your likes and interests, this app helps you figure out exactly what it is you want to add to one of your boards. Whether you’re creating something for fashion, food or travel, the algorithm designs itself to fit your individual needs. Pinterest can help you figure out precisely what you want to achieve, whether that’s a specific look you’re going for or a new aesthetic. Over time, your actions in real life will be inspired by the satisfying images you’ve been saving. You’ll want to recreate whats being shown on your Pinterest feed and implement them into your daily routine!
It tricks you into focusing on the positive
If you’re mainly focusing on things you enjoy, you are eventually loading yourself with positive content, which is going to rewire your brain to look for good things! Focusing on positives rather than negatives, (even if the fancy vacation on your Pinterest board is not achieved yet), will put you in a “growth” headspace. Pinterest is such a great form of social media because you’re able to look at the potential and manifest your future, rather than compare yourself to the highlight reel of influencers on your' Instagram feeds.
Visualizing = Attracting
If you’ve created a board to fit the vibe of your dream job in the city, your brain is going to become accustomed to the possibility of that reality. Pinterest provides you the visual to fuel your day dreams, attracting abundance and positive experiences related to you, your interests and aspirations. Whether you realize it or not, you will start thinking about your goals differently and feel emotions equated to having the things you want. By embodying the energy of your dream reality, you will slowly (but surely)acheive it!
