Burnt Out and No Motivation

It’s that time of the year again when finals are upon us and everyone has their game faces on. Elon's campus has students deep into their schoolwork but with no motivation to keep up and work hard. The spiraling emotions of anxiety and lack of drive are kicking in due to an intense workload. During these stressful times, we all need to stick together to keep everyone's initiative alive. It's understandable to want to push yourself in a crunch-time environment. However, working too hard or studying too much which can drain your energy, tank your mood, undermine your progress and ultimately crush your motivation to keep going.

We are here to help guide you through this week with some tips on how to keep the end goal in mind and strive for greatness.

Tip #1: Prioritize and organize.

We live in a hectic, high-pressure world, consistently juggling the responsibilities that come with school and your personal life, and it's essential to keep a balanced environment.

Tip #2: Build a Routine

Building a routine will allow you to stay accountable and organized during your hectic weekdays that compile all your schoolwork. Designing a routine and to-do lists will help your overall state of mind. Completing these small tasks will feel like an accomplishment, a small but significant milestone to help you get through the day.

Tip #3: Treat yourself

Remember everyone needs a break and time to themselves. Find down time, that is either by yourself in your room watching your favorite TV show or movie or driving around with your friends. It’s vital to heal yourself and value time to unplug and recharge.

We are all in this together, and we will get through it. We hope these tips will help you keep your motivation at high during finals week.
