What You Need to Know About "Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana"

Twenty-nine-year-old Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny never fails to exceed expectations. The “King of Latin Trap” received a 2022 Grammy nomination for his album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” and he has continued to capture the public eye like never before. Benito released his fifth solo LP “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana” (“Nobody Knows What Will Happen Tomorrow”) on October 13, declaring, “Ya no estoy en mi peak, ahora estoy en mi prime” (“I’m no longer in my peak, now I’m in my prime”). As Bad Bunny reins in his creative freedom as an independent artist, this album opens a new world that is vastly different from the sunshine paradise he sings about in “Un Verano Sin Ti.”

On this album, Benito confidently sings about a few of his favorite things: love for his island, sex and fame. Although he embraces his newfound status, Benito lyrically explains the inner struggle of exploitation, wealth and confusion with his own identity. The album opens with “Nadie Sabe,” a six-minute raw, introspective look into the isolation that stems from fame. He sings, “Siempre alguien te va a amar, y siempre alguien te va a odiar” (“Someone will always love you, and someone will always hate you”), leaving fans wondering: Is it always fun being at the top?

With 22 tracks totaling up to 81 minutes, Bad Bunny continues to broaden his musical horizons in “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana.” There is a lot for fans to unpack in this album, including heartbreak songs such as “Gracias Por Nada” (“Thanks For Nothing”). This post-breakup trap ballad outlines details of betrayal, revealing that nothing can revive his past relationship that has left him burned. Our megastar sings, “Mírame a los ojos, no me bajes la cabeza. No estás siendo sincera y eso es lo que me pesa” (“Look me in the eyes, don’t lower your head. You aren’t being honest and that’s what’s weighing down on me”). Expressing his emotions of frustration, every bridge is burnt between him and his ex as he has a revelation of distrust in the person he loved. Throughout the song, Bad Bunny criticizes those who look for superficial characteristics rather than focusing on elements of trust and transparency in relationships. “Gracias Por Nada” serves fans with a new go-to song to process heartbreak and the desire of finding closure.

Although the album continues with beats that stay and linger from Latin trap, Bad Bunny reassures fans that he is still deeply rooted in his love for Puerto Rico. The song “Acho PR” plays as a prideful tribute to his homeland. A notable lyric includes, “Pásala chévere, en este paraíso encuentras todo” (“Have a great time, in this paradise you’ll find everything”). These lyrics echo a common theme demonstrated throughout his albums — the vibrant and diverse culture in Puerto Rico. Similar to other songs on this album, Bad Bunny lets his fans from home know that his ongoing journey of fame will never change his loyalty to Puerto Rico.

On Spotify, Bad Bunny has been the most-streamed artist globally for the past three years. After following last year's blockbuster album, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” it’s no surprise that “Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana” holds the record for most-streamed album in a single day on Spotify. Bad Bunny has established a reputation for being a true expert on political and party tunes, but this album is one for the fans.
