Where to find the wellness day you need: Northeast spa edition.

As we all head home, we urge you to treat yourself to a wellness day to kick off your summer. Before you start summer classes, a new internship or head off for your first big job; it is crucial to let your body and mind reset.

This has been an exhausting semester, and let’s all be realistic, Elon’s “wellness days” were not anything that could give us the break that we needed. Day in and day out we’ve been staring at the long list of Moodle assignments and Zoom meetings that consume all of our body and brains energy. By giving ourselves the serenity we’ve been craving,

Burlington, North Carolina definitely lacks a presence of wellness spas. But, these cities in the Tri-state area sure do not. So, check out the places you can go and find the serenity you deserve.

New York City: Chillhouse

In the bustling-concrete jungle, the Chillhouse is one of the few places that you can actually… chill. This instagramable spa and cafe is the oasis every New Yorker wants and needs. They have massages, facials, nails, and saunas all at very reasonable prices! When we make it to the Chillhouse, you can find us in the private sauna, post-quick face facial and Gua Sha.

New Jersey: SoJo Spa Club

SoJo Spa Club offers more than just a facial. This Korean spa has a volcanic sand bath imported from Japan, an infinity pool with skyline and water views, and several indoor and outdoor lounge areas. And, it does not stop there… you won’t find your average pool or hot tub. There is a silk bath (to improve your skin’s elasticity), a carbon-rich bath (to increase your blood oxygen levels and improve circulation), and a hydrotherapy pool (the high-temperature water eases your muscles). Are you convinced to go yet?

Boston: Jet Set Co

Jet Set CO offers DIY individualized appointments where you are recommended a cleanser and a mask. Add-ons like rose water, aloe vera, and apple cider vinegar bring your facial to the next-level. Following the personalized facial, at no additional cost you are given a steaming towel, essential oils, homemade serums and a jade roller. The owners, a young couple, have done an incredible job at twisting your average facial and making it something more unique, because we all have different skin concerns that are often overlooked at spas.

Washington D.C.: Bliss Spa

We’ve all seen their products, and love them, but how many of us have visited their spas?! They esteem themselves off their glowing facials. The Triple Oxygen Facial, the most popular facial offered, begins by priming your skin with a peel and ends by spraying your skin with an exclusive vitamin-antioxidant mix. They also offer body facials that can tighten up your skin to be bikini-confident for the beach days coming up! You will be even more hooked on Bliss’ products after spending a day here.
