Easy Thanksgiving Meals For College Students
With the majority of us here at The Edge preparing to take the trip home for Thanksgiving, we are looking forward to the food. As we all get older, the days of sitting back and watching our families cook is over–it is time to get our hands dirty. You might even be hosting your first Thanksgiving for family, friends, or someone special in your life, so we wanted to offer some fun and helpful tips on how to make some delicious fan-favorite-foods this holiday season.
Two Pan Thanksgiving
For those of us celebrating alone this year, or with maybe one or two others this is the PERFECT hack. Using just two baking pans you can cook Turkey, stuffing, bacon, baked potatoes, and a vegetable side (this recipe uses brussel sprouts). The whole shebang takes only 2 hours and 25 minutes to prep, cook, and rest. The meal is prompted to serve 4 and honestly looks so amazing, our mouths are watering just reading the recipes.
Baked Brie
This adorable and short 20 minute recipe is the perfect appetizer to entertain your guests, or yourself, as your main meal cooks. All you have to do is put a wheel of brie in the oven and bake until it is gooey inside, then serve with whatever dippers you'd like, from apples to crackers, the world is your oyster. Now it might not be said in the recipe but adding a little bit of garlic and herb butter to the top of the brie wheel will add a whole different level of flavor, and make your mother think you actually learned how to cook.
Three-Bread Stuffing
We know that the best part of Thanksgiving is the stuffing, don't even try to deny it. Though this recipe, like all of them takes a little bit of grocery shopping it is SO worth it. All together it takes about 20 minutes of prep and 1 hour and 10 minutes to cook. You won’t want to miss out on this one, even though one serving can serve up to 8 we all know you can definitely eat a whole pan yourself.
Parmesan Mashed Potatoes
The mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without the mashed potatoes, but this year step it up a bit and add a little twist to a classic. These parmesan mashed potatoes are definitely the addition you need to a classic Thanksgiving dinner. To make it even better, they only take about 10 minutes to prep and 20 minutes to cook so you can be watching the Macey’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and whipping these up all in the same half hour.
Apple Crisp
Finally, who could forget about the dessert! Thanksgiving is the holiday of pie but we all know some of us aren't the BEST chefs and therefore a pie is a task too daunting to take on. This easy-as-pie apple crisp recipe takes only 45 minutes total and is pretty much the equivalent to deconstructed pie, who wouldn't wanna give that a try?
The Edge hopes you all have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving full of love and great food!
