5 Ways to Make your Quarantine Birthday Safe Yet Fun

A quarantine birthday can seem less exciting than usual right now. Usually, birthdays are the time when you can get together with all your friends and celebrate the new year ahead. We have come up with some great concepts for having the best time ever while still abiding by state laws. With these ideas, everyone can stay safe and have fun on their birthdays!

1. Spread out your birthday nights

Maybe you have two separate groups of friends or people who are important in your life. Have a plan to hang with smaller groups over the course of a few nights, that way you can still have fun but not pass the 10 person limit. And, this will extend your birthday an extra day or two, an added bonus!

2. Divide people between houses

Who doesn’t love a birthday house crawl?! Plan to have small groups in each house and bounce around throughout the night. Each house can even have a clever or funny theme and everyone can dress up! Doing a house crawl can spice up the night and allows the birthday girl or boy to see everyone in the same night.

3. Eat at an outdoor restaurant

Many restaurants are allowing people to sit outside. If you make a reservation for a bunch of tables outside at one restaurant, you and your friends can still be together while maintaining social distance. Just make sure to request that all the tables be next to each other so you’re not screaming across the patio!

4. Throw a birthday parade

This idea throws it back to the beginning of quarantine when people would parade by your house in cars! Either your friends can plan the same idea or small groups of people can periodically stop by throughout the day. Although this might not be as fun as having a traditional pre-COVID birthday party, it’s a great way to see everyone during the day!

5. Host a birthday Zoom

Similar to the house crawl, hosting a Zoom party is by far the safest option. This creates a fun and socially distant way to hang out and see all of your friends at the same time.
