Hailey Bieber and Maeve Reilly: A Match Made in Fashion Heaven

It’s safe to say that Hailey Bieber’s street style is one we hear about a lot. Her outfits often incorporate the trend of the moment right now: menswear. Whether she’s in athleisure, streetwear, or a dress and heels, she’s always sporting a pair of oversized gold hoop earrings.

Of all the models and celebs we idolize, Hailey has some of the most understated yet effortlessly cool outfits that can quite easily be achieved by the rest of us.

However, these celebs don’t wake up with an omniscient understanding of fashion and knowing what looks best wherever they are… they have stylists who curate pretty much every outfit you see. Whether Hailey is on the red carpet, grabbing lunch, or getting married, her stylist Maeve Reilly has had a heavy hand in all of her looks.

Maeve Reilly went to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She initially started out styling men, such as Pete Wentz, Chris Brown, and Russel Brand. She has since transitioned to styling women, including Hailey Bieber, Ciara, Julianne Hough, and Madison Beer.

The pair started working together in March of 2016.  According to a Harper’s Bazaar article from the end of that year, the two seemed to have instantly had a strong connection with each other. In the interview, Hailey said she found Maeve on Instagram, loved her style, and decided to reach out. And they’ve been working together ever since.

In this Vogue video, you can watch the pair at the fitting for Hailey’s wedding dress, which was designed by Virgil Abloh of Off-White and worn by Hailey this past September for her wedding to Justin Bieber.

The world of styling is a difficult one to get accepted into. In a 2018 interview with Fashion Week Daily, Maeve offered this advice:

“I would figure out who you look up to the most. Pre-instagram, I wanted to work for whoever dressed Rihanna, and I searched and searched and searched until I found Mariel [Haenn]. I just banged down her door until she agreed to meet with me, and she did, and she hired me kinda on the spot. Also, because we had a mutual friend that vouched for me, they were more interested in meeting with me. I think that the mistake that a lot of younger people make is sending DM’s and thinking that is professional. I wouldn’t respond to a DM if someone asked if they can work for me and I won’t hire them because they are that lazy.”

One thing that Hailey said is unique about her stylist is that no matter who she is working with, her looks are completely different from one person to the next. No one is the same.
